Upon arrival we were told we had to pay in full as our Visa payment through Booked.net wasn't processed it was only to hold the room. Because we are traveling I haven' been able to check if this is true. In Booked.net's confirmation email it clearly states that 50% is charged when the on line booking takes place. We booked a room with a friend who went there the day prior to our arrival and requested a second floor room. The day we arrived we were all informed that the owner wouldn't allow this as we were only staying one night. Instead we were assigned rooms in the parking lot on a busy noisy street. On top of all that the rooms weren't clean and smelled of an unidentifiable chemical. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The place is really nice and clean. The rooms are big and well decorated. The staff is really nice and helpful. Kuta and other place are very close and you can just walk there. The beach nearby is not touristic and far away from the big noisy touristic area. I preferred this more than the most famous beach like kuta or seminyak. You can enjoy the sunset with the locals and take great pictures of the traditional boat.

Apart from the rating I gave above, I liked staying at a small hotel and feel no barrier between locals and visitors. I very quickly felt like a friend. I liked that it was not "touristy", that I felt I lodged like a local city dweller. That is why the sometimes noisy motorbike traffic in our Gang (alley) did not bother me. I liked being part of what was happening. This friendly place is also very close to the beach and anything else a tourist may be looking for. Breakfast was great as well. Though small, they have good transport and a very eager driver and guide to take you wherever you want. I had arranged airport pick-up and, though my flight arrived almost 2 hours late, I was greeted with a smile and they were still up at 2am to receive me.

I liked everything, but if you are looking for a luxury resort type get-away, this is not for you... I, for my part, look forward to going back... rather sooner than later, I hope. One other note, as this is a small place, not all taxi drivers know where it is, even when you show them the address. So, airport pick-up is a great idea or be prepared to explain that it is in the alley to the left of the Department of Industry (Departemen Perindustian) in Dalan Jenggala, Tuban.

I really loved the staff there. Especially hostes Eka with her charming smile and permanent desire to help me as much as possible. Her husband was extremely helpful in arranging various tours for me during my last days of staying in Kuta.

Staff was friendly but when I asked for a taxi to the airport they pretented it was quite far, consequently I agreed with the price they offered to me. When I arrived I realize after I paid 5 times more than I should have paid! This was really not honnest!

It's close to the airport which is handy for early morning flights.

It is NOT a homestay, but instead a rather charmless low budget hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at the Gong Segara. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. It was close enough to the airport that I could walk. It was rather difficult to find as the place did not have a sign. Make sure you bring the address with you. A kettle was provided, with mugs and coffee powder. There was also a TV and airconditioner, not a bad deal for $25.

Super friendly staff, kept the room clean and had some nice talks about everything. ;) No bugs in the room, a good A/C and I loved the floor. Really plesant to take off the flip-flops when coming inside. Comfortable bed,safe for keeping items.

No hot shower at all, no internet in the room, poor lighting in the evening (even eyes start to hurt), VERY noisy due to small road next to homestay.

It did not have hot water for washing/ showers. It also didn't have credit card access.

Very clean and tasteful decor, staff very friendly and helpful good postion close to airport and beach.

good facilities - kitchen, but only boiler for hot water television, very weak reading light, in the shower there is only cold water

about six rooms. as i had no neighbours, it was very quiet in the night - however the front of the hotel is only a couple of meters from the street - not too crowded, but there is noise enough if you want to holiday.

The staff of gong segara were fantastic and very friendly!!!

Location was not good, i was very noisy the whole day even in the night because of the motorcycle passing on the small road in front of the hostel.

-near to the beach, short walk only 5 minutes -near to the airport, taxi only cost $2 (Rp.15000-20000) -close to shoping center (Discovery Mall and Kuta Square) -staff is very nice lady, but not the guard (man) -walking distance to convinient stores, food stall and even spa!

No sign board or anything indicated that this place is a hotel or homestay only number of the house -no reception staff, i need to shout to call the guard -i stayed for 3 days and they didnt clean my room at all, even we have to sweep the room by our self! -no parking for car -located in the small alley and very noisy from the motorcycle passing by -no fridge (what can u expect from $25)

Great location, friendly staff, good price. I will back again in my next vacation. Everything was great. Breakfast was delicious. Many guest compare this home stay with hotel, I think that's not fair. For the price $25 with hotel $70+ surely different. But, facilities like a hotel.

When I wanted extend there is no available room because already full booked during 1week.
